The Omega Speedmaster Reduced 175.0032 holds a special place in the broader Speedmaster lineage as the model that brought the iconic chronograph’s aesthetic and functionality to a more accessible and versatile size without sacrificing its DNA. Launched in 1988, this reference adopted a 39 mm case — noticeably smaller than the traditional 42 mm Professional Moonwatch — making it easier for a wider range of wrists while still featuring the classic black tachymeter bezel and hesalite crystal that define the Speedmaster look. Powered by the automatic Omega Caliber 1140, which combines an ETA base with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module, the 175.0032 delivers reliable self-winding performance and classic chronograph functions, including a 30-minute and 12-hour register layout. Over its production run, the Speedmaster Reduced was offered in steel, two-tone, and gold variations with a variety of dial colors, giving collectors and enthusiasts plenty of options. Today it’s appreciated both as a vintage everyday sports chronograph with strong design heritage and as a piece that offers the Speedmaster spirit in a more compact, comfortable form.
