Originally famous as the first chronograph to feature a slide rule bezel, the Chronomat was launched in 1942 and formed the basis for what would soon become the legendary Navitimer. The watch went out of production during the quartz crisis in the 1970s, but it was revived in 1984 in consultation with professional aviators to find the perfect design.
