This pre-owned IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, reference IW503302, is a 44.2mm 18k 5N rose gold dress watch belonging to IWC’s Portugieser collection — a line with roots tracing back to the late 1930s, when two Portuguese businessmen commissioned IWC to build a precision marine chronometer in wristwatch form. That original brief for an oversized, legible case was later paired with IWC’s celebrated Kurt Klaus-developed perpetual calendar module, first introduced in the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar in 1985 and comprising just 80 parts, to create the modern Portugieser Perpetual Calendar line.
The silver dial is finished with rose gold Arabic numerals and hands, and houses four sub-dials: a double moonphase display at 12 o’clock accurate to within one day every 577.5 years, a day/date/month calendar display, a four-digit year indicator, and a power reserve indicator with small hacking seconds. The watch is powered by the IWC-manufactured Calibre 52610, an automatic movement with Pellaton winding, 54 jewels, and a 168-hour (7-day) power reserve, with the calendar mechanism automatically adjusting for month length and leap years without correction. The case features an arched-edge sapphire crystal with antireflective coating, a see-through sapphire display back, and is water resistant to 30 metres, completed with a dark brown Santoni alligator strap and 18k rose gold deployment buckle.
This pre-owned IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar has been authenticated, tested, regulated, and pressure sealed by Topwatch’s watchmakers, and is sold with a 12-month Topwatch warranty.
