In the early 1990s, Officine Panerai took aim at the civilian market, presenting a collection of three limited-edition watches to an international public of collectors and admirers of the brand. This gave rise to what is now known as the Luminor case – a unique and timeless design featuring a more modern look and clean, minimal lines. The cushion shape has been replaced by a middle-case with squared lines while the bezel has been given a simpler form. The distinctive lever bridge protecting the winding crown ensures the watch”s water-resistance to great depths. The typical inscription "Reg.tm" engraved on the lever bridge has been removed and the bridge features a more squared look. While its 47-mm dimensions were once used for military purposes, this new version of the Luminor case measures 44 mm. The PAM00560 is the Luminor Base 8 Days Acciaio – 44mm in steel equipped with the P.5000, an in-house movement with 8-day power reserve, making the current Luminor case thinner than the previous model presented by Officine Panerai. Featuring a black dial and the characteristic sandwich structure guaranteeing exceptional nighttime visibility, the watch comes with a black vintage calfskin strap recalling the historic models of the 1930s.
