Once again we are pleasantly reminded of the distinct correlation between aviation and watchmaking, even though they might seem worlds apart, both however are superbly artistic and require the utmost skill and craftsmanship and what better way to display this with the Perellet Turbine Pilot ref 1085/1. Named after Abram Louys Perrelet, a church elder from Le Locle who”s cresited with creating the very first self-winding watch. A noticeable 48mm in diameter and 13.65mm thick, this oversized stainless steel case is however also fantastically elegant. But the show has to be that spinning turbine with its 12 blades. Accompanied by a black under dial with yellow stripes, luminous arabic numerals, hour markers and hands. Perellet”s automatic P-331 in-house calibre has 42 hours power reserve and 25 jewels. Functions also include a bidirectional rotating dial ring, circular aviation slide rule and countdown. A black rubber strap with stainless steel pin buckle for extra comfort.
