Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller 1665

Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller 1665 (DRSD) , produced from 1967 to 1977, is one of the most collectible vintage dive watches. Designed for saturation diving, it was among the first to feature a helium escape valve (HEV) and a thicker case for extreme depths.

Named for the two red lines of text on its dial—“Sea-Dweller / Submariner 2000”—the DRSD became a legend among tool watches. Rolex later transitioned to all-white text, making these early red-letter versions especially rare. This particular example features a Mark IV dial, the last of the red-text variations before the switch and is in fair, unpolished condition, making it the perfect investment for collectors, and for some the grail watch to their collection.

Since most DRSDs saw heavy use, well-preserved examples are hard to find. This watch has developed a stunning patina, with tropical yellow lume that enhances its vintage appeal and the domed crystal adds to its character, drawing the eye with every angle.
