The particular classical look of the dial is given by the lack of the date window which reminds us of the legendary chronometer 5512 also known as the Steve McQueen Submariner. Another important detail is the size of the hands and hour markers. The watch was launched in an era when the maxi-dial wasn”t created yet so its hour markers are not that big as the ones of the contemporary Submariner models. The same thing goes for the hands. The overall look of the dial is minimalistic and light on the eye.
On the exterior of the dial we find the unique aluminum bezel that is incredibly intriguing for Rolex fans. The semi-matte finishing looks fantastic in contrast with the shiny dial and crystal. This is much more beautiful than the glossy ceramic bezel that makes the Submariner loose its sharpness. Also, the small white luminescent dot from the bezel is the perfect final touch for the "no date" Rolex Submariner.
