Reference 16610LV was introduced at the end of 2003 as a commemorative model to the 50th anniversary of the Iconic Submariner.
Green , representing Rolex heritage color , was used as an accent for the bezel setting it apart from it's classic black counterpart.
What is special about this reference and what all the hype is about is that we have a classic late 80s-90s body Rolex case + bracelet paired with the new look of the maxi marker dial. Old school and new school blended together.
The green Sub came in different versions of minutiae on the dial and bezel.
The first batches Y-F serial have the MK1 dial ( Oval O on ROLEX text and 5 ticks under SWISS MADE) and the super coveted FLAT or FAT 4 bezel. This is the real anniversary model.
