The black dial of the 216570 features a “phantom” effect at the base of the hands, where they are painted black to blend into the dial—a nostalgic nod to vintage Explorer II models. The oversized 18k white gold hour markers and hands are filled with Chromalight, Rolex’s proprietary luminescent material that glows a vibrant blue for up to eight hours.
